Arkley announces Katie’s Cup ambition
Kingsfield News - September 2011
At a press conference this morning Kingsfield owner Robert Arkley exclusively revealed that he will be taking up the game of golf in preparation for the Katie’s Cup Charity event on the 10th of September.
Former Linlithgow RFC rugby star Arkley outlined his preparation plans for the next two weeks in the build up to what is anticipated to be one of the highlights of the golfing calendar.
He said:
“The next two weeks will see me take part in an intensive practice regime to make sure I am ready for the Katie’s Cup. I aim to win the competition. I was a winner on the rugby pitch and I will be a winner on the golf course.”
He also announced that he will be assisted in his preparation by appointing Jack Gallacher, son of European Tour pro Stephen Gallacher, as his Head Coach and Ben and Charlie Allan as his psychologists.
“The individuals that I have selected for Team Arkley are young and hungry just like me. They will play an integral role over the next two weeks and will ensure that I am in the right frame of mind going into the Katie’s Cup competition.”
However, Arkley did not announce who will be his caddy for the competition instead shocking the packed Tee Caddy hosted press conference by unveiling that he will select the individual through a silent auction to raise money for the charity Sands.
Kingsfield is hosting the Katie’s Cup Charity Stableford golf competition on the 10th of September and all proceeds raised will be donated to the Sands charity.
